Hospitals are increasingly posed with many requirements arising from government regulations to improve patient-centered care. The aim of this study is to investigate whether experiential quality reflects clinical quality of patient care. Toward this end, we analyzed 112 general and 42 tertiary hospitals with a multivariate robust regression model, using patient experience evaluation administered by health insurance review and assessment services(HIRA), process and outcome quality indicators of hospital patient care. After adjusting hospitals¡¯ structural and operational characteristics associated with patient experience, we found scientific evidence that clinical quality of patient care is associated with experiential quality. Trade-off between improving patient-centered quality and clinical quality of patient care is less likely occur.
